What is feminism?

Seems every book I read classifies feminists as man hating lesbians. Seems every interview/biography I read on feminists is about a woman who hates men and everything about them. They even hate women who don’t support women like they do and aren’t as radical.

Just because I would like to call myself feminist doesn’t mean I don’t shave my legs or don’t wear make-up. I wouldn’t call myself natural either.

Just because I shave my legs, wear make-up and do my hair with products and strengtheners and what-not doesn’t mean I think not shaving your legs/being natural is gross. I simply enjoy keeping myself busy and it's a good way to do so.

Is it really that hard to just let everyone do their thing and to do your own thing without having to belong to some sort of group/cult/following/movement?

Is it so hard to be feminist without having someone call you a dyke?

Is feminism about hating men now? I always thought it was about equality.

Being lesbian doesn’t make you feminist and being feminist doesn’t make you a lesbian. Women are NOT better then men. Men are NOT better then women. We are equal. EQUAL. Let’s spell it folks. E-Q-U-A-L. Equal.

I'm all for supporting women. I'm all for women's rights and standing up against those who put us down. But I don't support putting men down and simply swapping positions. I do not support women being more powerful then men. I do not support women who put men down, abuse them and think they are stupid. Jokes are fine, I'm an easy going person but I can tell when someone is serious. Seriously thinking men are worthless and stupid and that the world would be better without them is just fucking retarded. You don't like it when you're called stupid yet you'll turn around and put down a man before he can even blink.

Pisses me off.


Same with furries. Wtf is a furry nowadays? Being a furry doesn’t make you a porno/bestiality loving half-animal. I consider myself a furry because I don’t like calling myself human. I love nature, and I love animals. I can make a stronger friendship and connection with an animal then I can with a human *Most of the time*. I would easily give my life for my cat and he is my best friend. I would have given my life for my dog as well… I never got the chance to though I love my cat and loved my dog. I see animals as my equal, though I know I am not one *technically I am but shut up you know what I mean.* but I feel more animal then human. So I call myself a furry.

Do I have a fursona? Yes. It’s a barn owl. Do I have a fursuit? No but it would be sorta cool XD Do I fantasize about being an animal? Yes, often. Do I want to BE an animal? No. Being human has its benefits. Do I love furry porn? Not really. I don’t even like it really. Art is art, I appreciate it for it’s quality and the effort behind it. Subject means little to me anymore.

Would I ever tell someone I was a furry? No. Not my RL friends anyways. They all think furries are freaks and I don’t want to be associated with that. Would I ever call myself a feminist? Hell no. They’d think I was a radical freak who hated men. Not to mention that in less then a day the entire school would think I was a lesbian. I live in a very… limited place. Everyone is white and straight. Gays and Lesbians are abused and tormented by a vast majority. There are three that I know of that are public, the rest if there are any are apparently quite secretive about it. There aren’t even any other races accept white. There are… what like four African Americans, a Korean brother and sister and one Native American. That’s in 1000 students.
So I try to stay as ‘normal’ as possible to avoid discrimination. Only Six more months of highschool <3 Then I’m free.



So anyways, my question to you all.



What’s feminism and wtf is a furry? Modern definitions… not what the intentions were.

2010 will be great, whether it likes it or not. My goal is to finally sort out my issues and get back on the right track. I have a shit load of me work to do and a lot of fixing -_- Kip is broken. So, I am going to try and work it out. Sort of my rehab. A new decade... a new beginning.

I feel like I am back at the begiining and I have to do everything over again to get myself back -_- Working on it. Slowly.

I deleted my last journal. It was a rant fest, no one cares anyways.


I just get anxious in the city. I get... uncomfortable and can't sleep. I like my room dark when i sleep and here all I have are street lights outdside my window and the flashing lights of police cars all night. I can't handle it well.
